Hi, and welcome - I’m so glad you’re here!
Hi, I’m Carissa. I’m so proud of you for being here. It takes a great deal of courage to seek help, no matter where you’re coming from or what you’re trying to heal from. Whether you’re transitioning into motherhood, walking through the throws of infertility, grieving the loss of a loved one, or anything in between, I promise to hold your hand in times of struggle and cheer you on in times of victory.
I specialize in supporting individuals through some of life’s most emotionally complex and tender experiences, including the perinatal and postpartum periods, infertility, and grief and loss. These seasons can bring intense emotions, identity shifts, and a sense of isolation—often alongside pressure to “be strong” or move on before you’re ready. My goal is to create a space where your experience can be honored without judgment or minimization to navigate these changes.
My therapeutic style is strengths-based and collaborative, grounded in the belief that clients already possess resilience, insight, and inner resources—even during periods of overwhelm or distress. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or deficits, I work alongside clients to identify and build upon their existing strengths, values, and coping skills. This approach supports empowerment, self-compassion, and meaningful change during transitions. By working together, I hope to help you reconnect with your strengths and use them intentionally as you navigate difficult life transitions.
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Auburn University and was among the first cohort to graduate from the program. Since graduating, I’ve worked with clients across the care continuum which has led me to developing a passion to bridge the gaps in mental health care accessibility.
Outside of work, I am a wife and a mother of two. I enjoy traveling with my family and creating meaningful traditions that foster connection and balance. These experiences shape my perspective and reinforce my belief in the importance of support, presence, and compassion through all stages of life.
I’m so proud of you for being here and am honored for you to place your trust in me.
