Meet your Birmingham therapist
Hi, and welcome - I’m so glad you’re here!
It’s an honor to walk alongside you in your journey of healing and growth. I work with both adults and adolescents, supporting people through a variety of life challenges and transitions. My areas of focus include anxiety, perfectionism, depression, OCD, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, family conflict, life transitions, and LGBTQ+. In addition, I am passionate about working with perinatal mental health (pregnancy/postpartum mental health), infertility, adoption, and the transition to parenthood.
I believe every person has the capacity to grow, heal, and thrive. In my work, I use evidence-based, neurobiologically informed approaches that honor the whole person - mind, body, and emotions. My style is relational, trauma-informed, attachment-focused, person-centered, and strengths-based.
Some of the therapeutic approaches I draw from include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Samford University and my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia. Before moving into private practice, I worked with survivors of domestic violence and with college students in a university counseling center.
Outside the office, I live in Birmingham with my three children. When we’re not at home, you can often find us hiking in the beautiful Alabama outdoors or creating in my art studio.
Reaching out for help is a brave step - and you’ve already taken it. I look forward to partnering with you as you continue to grow and discover what’s possible for your life.
